We are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of Bayou Land Sensory Gym and Party Center, a one-of-a-kind space designed to cater to the needs of children (0-8 years of age) with sensory input disorders. Created by Camille Cirilo, a passionate and driven individual, this inclusive facility promises to transform playing into progress.
Camille's journey began when she realized the lack of indoor play spaces in our area specifically tailored to children with autism and sensory input disorders. Determined to make a difference, she shared her vision with her mother, Tafta Miller, owner of Cub House on the Bayou, and Playland Parties at Cub House on the Bayou. Together, they embarked on a mission to bring this dream to life.
In October of 2023, Camille and Tafta reached out to Fun Factory Sensory Gym of New Jersey, renowned for their expertise in creating spaces like these. After a series of discussions and planning, the initial renderings came back in December, showcasing a vibrant and engaging environment that truly captured Camille's vision.
With a wide range of features, including a rock wall, crash pad pit, multiple swings, a calming nook, a large wall mirror, monkey bars, a dry-erase board, and even a ninja ramp, Bayou Land Sensory Gym is set to provide endless opportunities for exploration and play. Spanning just under 1,000 square feet, this space is not only perfect for hosting birthday parties and events but also serves as a potential venue for occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists to conduct sessions with their clients.

What sets Bayou Land Sensory Gym apart is its commitment to inclusivity. Camille and Tafta believe that every child deserves a chance to thrive and grow. Tafta shared, “Seeing children at an early age who come through our learning center who need services…it’s just so special to be able to provide this space for our students and others in our community.” By providing a safe and stimulating environment, this gym will be a game-changer for our community and a place where all children can come together to have fun.
We are incredibly proud of Camille for her dedication and determination to see this dream through. As we eagerly anticipate the grand opening in the Spring of 2024, we invite parents to join us in celebrating this remarkable achievement. Camille Cirilo graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 2017, became a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in 2019, got her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2021, and started Occupational Therapy school at the University of Louisiana Monroe in January of 2023. WHEW! That’s enough of a story there.
